Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information PassTLC ("we", "us") collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. PassTLC is an independent NYC TLC license exam practice service and is not affiliated with the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect the name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and Zelle account identifier you provide. We also automatically collect technical information when you use the site: your IP address, browser and device type (user-agent string), sign-in timestamps, and a randomly generated device identifier stored in a cookie on your browser.
We do not, and cannot, collect your device's hardware MAC address — browsers do not expose this to websites. The "device" we track is a first-party cookie identifier, not a hardware fingerprint.
Why we collect it
- To create and secure your account, including detecting suspicious sign-in activity and enforcing our one-account/one-device policy.
- To verify Zelle payments you submit and activate or extend your access accordingly.
- To track your practice progress and trial usage.
- To communicate with you about your account, such as expiration reminders.
- To maintain security logs (login attempts, administrative actions) for fraud prevention and troubleshooting.
How long we keep it
We retain account and security log data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for security and legal-compliance purposes. You can request deletion of your account by contacting support.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the site (e.g. payment processors, when used), or when required by law.
Your choices
You can review and update most of your profile information from your dashboard. You can request account deletion or a copy of your data by contacting support at the email address on our Contact page.
Consent to device/session monitoring
By creating an account, you consent to our collection of IP address, browser/device information, and a device-identifier cookie as described above, used to secure your account and enforce the one-device policy.
This policy is provided as a general template and has not been reviewed by an attorney. If you operate PassTLC commercially, have it reviewed for compliance with applicable laws (e.g. CCPA, GDPR) before relying on it.
